How to Submit
Send either a completed draft or a short pitch to editor@meridianletters.com.
If you are sending a pitch, include:
- A short summary of the proposed piece
- Why it matters now
- A few lines about your background or relevant expertise
Length
Most submissions should fall between 800 and 1,500 words.
Commentaries are often shorter. Essays and analysis pieces may run longer when the subject warrants it.
Editorial Standards
Meridian Letters is editorially independent, and all editorial decisions rest with the editors. We edit submissions for clarity, structure, tone, and consistency with our editorial standards.
Contributors remain responsible for the factual accuracy, originality, and integrity of their work.
